Dear Friends in Christ,
It’s getting scary out there… and I’m not talking about the costumes for Halloween or Trick/trunk-or-treating, though those are fun and spooooky! Have you looked at the calendar? There’s only 4 more weeks left in the church year. Then… Advent begins! That’s scary for a Pastor!
A new church year and a new church season along with a change in the weather / season – all good things. The one true God is a God of order. The changing seasons are one of the things I really do love about Kansas, despite rushing to prepare for them. Thankfully God is in control of all things. These changes serve as a constant reminder for us to order our days and our deeds in the Lord’s peace as we prepare to meet him face to face.
This becomes the focus of the end of the church year as we shift to the end times and preparing for our Lord’s final coming. Are you ready for that? It’s going to take me than a friendly reminder: quick, look busy – Jesus is coming!
This week we celebrate All Saints’ Day remembering those who have gone before us in the faith and now rest from their labors, while remembering that we too, are saints of the Lord; he is faithful, and he keeps his promises.
Join us this week, won’t you? There’s not time like the present to prepare for the future!
God’s blessings on your week!
